This year’s Armed Forces Day is set to be a high flyer

Bucks County Coun­cil and called on peo­ple to get in­volved, ei­ther by or­gan­is­ers for this year’s event are hop­ing for big­ger crowds than the one in 2013. He said: “We’re the sec­ond or third Armed Forces Day around af­ter the main one. We’re hop­ing to bet­ter the 10,000.”

At­ten­dees at Armed Forces Day, which will be at Ayles­bury rugby club on Satur­day June 27, can ex­pect dis­plays from the Red Ar­rows, as well as ap­pear­ances by a Spit­fire and Hur­ri­cane.

Lo­cal bands, such as the Mem­phis Bells, are also lined up to play on a day that is set up to be bet­ter than ever.

Cllr Mo­hammed said: “We’re re­ally ex­cited for it,” and added: “It’s a very im­por­tant event in the cal­en­dar be­cause it’s re­ally a case of we have a fan­tas­tic re­la­tion­ship with the armed forces and we wish to strengthen that and en­cour­age that.

“It’s hugely im­por­tant for me as the chair­man of Bucks County Coun­cil.”
