This year’s Armed Forces Day is set to be a high flyer
The Advertiser & Examiner Series is proud to team up with Bucks County Council to support Armed Forces Day. Around 10,000 people are expected to flock to the county’s celebrations on June 27. TOM HERBERT was at the official launch at RAF Halton
Bucks County Council and called on people to get involved, either by organisers for this year’s event are hoping for bigger crowds than the one in 2013. He said: “We’re the second or third Armed Forces Day around after the main one. We’re hoping to better the 10,000.”
Attendees at Armed Forces Day, which will be at Aylesbury rugby club on Saturday June 27, can expect displays from the Red Arrows, as well as appearances by a Spitfire and Hurricane.
Local bands, such as the Memphis Bells, are also lined up to play on a day that is set up to be better than ever.
Cllr Mohammed said: “We’re really excited for it,” and added: “It’s a very important event in the calendar because it’s really a case of we have a fantastic relationship with the armed forces and we wish to strengthen that and encourage that.
“It’s hugely important for me as the chairman of Bucks County Council.”
