Volunteers needed for MPS society
DO you live in Bucks and would you like to volunteer and take part in a rewarding and unforgettable experience?
The MPS Society supports the families of children and young adults who suffer from one of 25 degenerative genetic conditions, known collectively as Mucopolysaccharide and related diseases. Because of the rarity of MPS diseases, families with an affected child often feel isolated and struggle to access the help they need to cope with caring for a severely disabled child with complex problems.
These families benefit hugely from coming to our national conference held in Coventry in June, where they can gain vital knowledge on disease management and the latest research updates from medical experts, and benefit from practical advice and support from other families living with the devastating effects of these diseases.
We are currently looking for volunteers that we will provide to each family for this weekend. Each volunteer will be specially trained to meet their child’s individual care needs and ensure that they enjoy some much needed fun and friendship.
Our tailored childcare programme during the weekend will be able to give some of these children and their siblings a fun packed weekend, while their parents and families learn more about all aspects of life with these conditions.
If you think you can help please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. uk or call us on 03453 899901.
