Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

A WOMAN was able to tick something off her bucket list when she completed the marathon at the weekend.

Veronica Pearce, 30, of Poles Hill, Chesham, had always wanted to run a marathon and her wish was granted was she won a ballot place for this year’s London Marathon.

Miss Pearce ran in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, where she works as a communications executive. She completed the race in four hours and 49 minutes.

She added: “I really enjoyed it and the crowd were amazing. The first 21 miles were fun then the real pain began, but I managed to struggle through the last five miles and the noise of the crowd just pulled me around.

“It was a day I’ll never forget and the long, cold training runs were worth it. I’m already planning to enter the ballot for next year, I guess I have the running bug!”

Miss Pearce is hoping to raise at least £1,000.
