Rotarians lead life-saving event
A GROUP has hosted its annual Stroke Awareness Day event in a bid to save lives.
The members of the Rotary Club of Chesham have supported the Stroke Association in the community for more than a decade, predominantly through promoting Stroke Awareness Day, now known as Know Your Blood Pressure.
Rotary Club of Chesham Helen Salisbury started the event at the United Reformed Church in The Broadway, Chesham, on Saturday, April 18 by having her blood pressure taken by local doctors and nurses.
At the event, organised by Dr Alan Morris, members of the public were invited in to have their blood pressure taken and a reading done free of charge.
Sometimes people are then referred to their GP for a further check and or treatment as appropriate.
Mrs Salisbury added: “Nearly every year we Members of Chesham Rotary Club welcomed people to the Stroke Awareness Day have taken part we have saved lives and Rotary Club of Chesham is pleased to be helping the community in this way.”
