Mud­dle three fresh basil leaves and two nails of fresh root gin­ger in base of shaker. Add 1 1/2 shots vodka, 1/2 shots gin­ger syrup, 1/2 shot ap­ple liqueur and 3/4 shots freshly squeezed lemon juice into a tin, shake with ice and fine strain into a mar­tini glass.
