Open gardens raise funds for appeal
VISITORS have flocked to open gardens to raise funds for a charity.
Diana Shorey of Lowndes Avenue in Chesham opened up her garden to the public on St George’s Day to raise funds for Scannappeal.
The charity’s fundraising officer, Stephanie Hallam, said: “Tea, cakes and lunchtime snacks were enjoyed in the spring weather and produce and plants were sold to raise funds.”
Two days later, there were also two open gardens in Jordans.
In total, these open gardens raised around £1,000 towards Scannappeal’s Sound Appeal at Amersham Hospital.
It is a £50,000 appeal to provide advanced diagnostic equipment to substantially improve the audiology service.
