OAK­LAND PARK GC Christine Haigh (pic­tured, left, with pro­moter Linda Lis­ton) was pre­sented with the Oak­land Park Ladies’ Player of the Year 2014 Shield at the club’s spring meet­ing and char­ity lun­cheon.

The day also saw 68 women play in the Texas Scram­ble, the win­ners be­ing Lyn Robin­son, Mau­reen Stills, Win Street and Pauline Pearce, with an av­er­age score of 62.6.

This put them ahead of An­gela Smith, Ann Richards and Di Dou­glas, who were sec­ond with an av­er­age of 63, and He­len Rothman, Paula El­liott, Ron­nie Be­nat­tar and Jenny Brooke, who were third with an av­er­age of 63.2.

Long­est drives came from Brenda Crane and Jackie Parker, near­est to the pin were Mary Holmes and Gil­lian Pugh and £540 was raised to­wards the lady cap­tain’s char­ity, Help for He­roes.
