‘We’ve loved every minute of it’
THE owners of a pub who have just celebrated 10 years of pulling pints are delighted that they have been nominated for Pub of the Year.
Owners of The Swan, in Ley Hill, Nigel and Sam Byatt put the pub’s success down to three elements – good beer, good food and a welcoming environment for customers.
The couple celebrated the anniversary at the pub and threw a party to thank their loyal customers and staff.
Mr Byatt added: “I’m really delighted to be nominated, thank you to whoever has voted for us. We pride ourselves on the quality of our beer and food, we have been developing our menu for 10 years and we’re proud of it, we have our best menu ever at the moment.
“I also like to think that we provide our customers a nice welcoming and relaxed environment. I think getting those things right are key, and we’ve worked really hard on those three elements.”
Mr Byatt said they have enjoyed their decade years at The Swan.
He added: “My wife, Sam, and I have loved every minute of the last 10 years.
“What’s made our time at The Swan so enjoyable is the warmth and humour of our customers. We’re so grateful to all our customers for their loyalty and friendship. We look forward to being here for another 10 years. We love the pub and we love our customers.”
The pub also joins forces with neighbouring venue The Crown to put on a free three day beer and music festival over the August bank holiday weekend.
Thousands of people are expected to flock to the 10th Ley Hill Beer and Music Festival taking place on Saturday, August 29 to Monday, August 31.
The festival will host a variety of live music both inside and outside the pubs, as well as more than 60 real ales and ciders, a barbecue and a hog roast.
