Liz named King of the fundrais­ers

A NEW chair­man has been ap­pointed for one of the most suc­cess­ful can­cer sup­port fundrais­ing groups in Bucks.

Liz King, from Chal­font St Peter, is the new chair­man of the Macmil­lan Can­cer Sup­port’s Ger­rards Cross and dis­trict fundrais­ing group.

One of the orig­i­nal founders of the group, she took over in her new role at their re­cent an­nual meet­ing.

The group cel­e­brates its 21st an­niver­sary this year and has raised more than £570,000 since 1994.

She said: “It is a priv­i­lege to be chair­man of the most suc­cess­ful Macmil­lan fundrais­ing group in Buck­ing­hamshire.

“I was shocked to hear that ev­ery day nine peo­ple in Buck­ing­hamshire hear the dev­as­tat­ing news that they have can­cer.
