Liz named King of the fundraisers
A NEW chairman has been appointed for one of the most successful cancer support fundraising groups in Bucks.
Liz King, from Chalfont St Peter, is the new chairman of the Macmillan Cancer Support’s Gerrards Cross and district fundraising group.
One of the original founders of the group, she took over in her new role at their recent annual meeting.
The group celebrates its 21st anniversary this year and has raised more than £570,000 since 1994.
She said: “It is a privilege to be chairman of the most successful Macmillan fundraising group in Buckinghamshire.
“I was shocked to hear that every day nine people in Buckinghamshire hear the devastating news that they have cancer.
