THE GE Chiltern Cycling Festival has announced that it will be supporting Help for Heroes and Leonard Cheshire Disability this summer.

The event, which offers three different cycling distances, will be held on Sunday, July 12. It will take place in and around Penn House, near Amersham and following the success of last year’s festival is attracting cyclists from all over the country.

Organiser Nick O’Brien said: “Our event seems to have captured the interest of the cycling community so we are delighted so many of them will be using the festival as a focus to raise money for charities like Help for Heroes and Leonard Cheshire, the positive feedback we are getting can only help us grow and highlight the Chilterns as a go-to cycling destination and we look forward to seeing the imaginative ways entrants can raise sponsorship.”

The festival includes 100-mile and 100km routes, appealing to more experienced riders who will be raising money through sponsorship as well as donations. Besides the cycling events, there will be a vintage fayre, gourmet food stalls, British Cycling Go-ride coaching for kids and live music.
