Live chat ser­vice a new tool for Cit­i­zens Ad­vice

Ser­vice should help res­i­dents ac­cess in­for­ma­tion quickly

A CHAR­ITY has made it eas­ier for peo­ple in Bucks to seek help and ad­vice by launch­ing a live web chat ser­vice.

Peo­ple will now be able to dis­cuss their prob­lems on­line with Chiltern Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau, based in Townsend Road, Che­sham, af­ter it re­cently launched the tool.

Users can now get con­nected to a Chiltern Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau ad­viser via live web chat if they are look­ing for help on­line and can­not find what they need, or if they pre­fer to dis­cuss prob­lems in real time by typing a query rather than mak­ing a phone call.

Dis­trict manager of Chiltern Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau Jen­nifer Al­lott said: “We are ex­cited to be launch­ing our live web chat ser­vice on our new, up­dated web­site.

“We hope it will make it eas­ier for peo­ple to con­tact us for ad­vice in the way that they feel most com­fort­able with.

“Our live web chat is free, quick and con­fi­den­tial. We think it will prove par­tic­u­larly use­ful for clients who pre­fer get­ting help on­line and us­ing in­stant mes­sag­ing to com­mu­ni­cate their prob­lems.”

Chiltern Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau is also keen to reach out to a wider au­di­ence among the lo­cal pop­u­la­tion with the new web chat ser­vice.

The char­ity says live web chat is be­com­ing a ‘turn to’ op­tion for peo­ple con­tact­ing or­gan­i­sa­tions, with­out hav­ing to find a phone num­ber or wait on the end of a phone.

Re­search has shown it is par­tic­u­larly popular among un­der 35s who are used to in­stant mes­sag­ing in their ev­ery­day lives.

Ad­vis­ers are on­line from 10am to 4pm Mon­days, Tues­days and Thurs­days and there is the fa­cil­ity to leave a ‘call back’ mes­sage at other times.
