Live chat service a new tool for Citizens Advice
Service should help residents access information quickly
A CHARITY has made it easier for people in Bucks to seek help and advice by launching a live web chat service.
People will now be able to discuss their problems online with Chiltern Citizens Advice Bureau, based in Townsend Road, Chesham, after it recently launched the tool.
Users can now get connected to a Chiltern Citizens Advice Bureau adviser via live web chat if they are looking for help online and cannot find what they need, or if they prefer to discuss problems in real time by typing a query rather than making a phone call.
District manager of Chiltern Citizens Advice Bureau Jennifer Allott said: “We are excited to be launching our live web chat service on our new, updated website.
“We hope it will make it easier for people to contact us for advice in the way that they feel most comfortable with.
“Our live web chat is free, quick and confidential. We think it will prove particularly useful for clients who prefer getting help online and using instant messaging to communicate their problems.”
Chiltern Citizens Advice Bureau is also keen to reach out to a wider audience among the local population with the new web chat service.
The charity says live web chat is becoming a ‘turn to’ option for people contacting organisations, without having to find a phone number or wait on the end of a phone.
Research has shown it is particularly popular among under 35s who are used to instant messaging in their everyday lives.
If you are looking for advice on an issue such as debt, benefits, housing, employment, relationships or other areas, you can try the new web chat service by visiting www. c h i l t e r n c a b. o r g . u k / webchat.
Advisers are online from 10am to 4pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and there is the facility to leave a ‘call back’ message at other times.
You can also contact Chiltern Citizens Advice Bureau at other times by phone, email or dropping into a centre near you.
