Chamberlain leads by example
MID BUCKS CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION ONE Holmer Green 2nds Challoners 79 all out
81-2 removed opener Dave Ward in his first over. The wickets continued and the visitors looked in trouble as they stuttered to 28-4.
Holmer provided a small fightback through captain Luke Rickett and Mike Nash, who put on a 50-run sixth-wicket partnership, but when Rickett lost his wicket for 49, they suffered another collapse and were skittled out for 79.
Things looked equally dismal for Challoners early in their reply as Chris Price fell for just eight to Finn McAndrew and Asghar Mahmood went for seven, caught at point by Matt Landon off the bowling of Simon Walker, but an experienced performance from Saqid Ali and Chamberlain guided them to victory.
There were better fortunes for Holmer’s firsts (128) in the Premier, as they beat Waddesdon (98) by 30 runs, while back in Division One Hawridge & Cholesbury (129-9) lost by just five runs to Wendover (134-9).
