Viney 86 is not enough

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SPORT -

HOME COUNTIES PREMIER CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION TWO Amersham Datchet 192-8 194-4 A SUPERB unbeaten knock of 86 from Andrew Viney was not enough to prevent an opening day defeat for Amersham on Saturday.

Although they lost opener Adam Ali cheaply early on, Amersham recovered to reach 100-2 before the next wicket fell, Viney partnering Bruce Friderichs who made 41.

But thereafter, Viney found partners who stuck around hard to come by, with only Maduka Liyanapathiranage making double figures as Amersham slumped to 192-8 from their 50 overs.

In reply, Stuart Rogers did his best with 2-28, with Friderichs taking the catches both times, but Datchet eased to a six-wicket win in 46.3 overs.

Meanwhile, a stellar cast of cricketers will be expected when the Lashings World XI returns to Shardloes on Friday, July 24. Call 07818 066 338 for more details.
