Thou­sands raised at fam­ily fun day

CAPED CRU­SADERS: Sam Brown (left) and brother Daniel be­came su­per­heroes at the Chal­font St Giles pre-school fam­ily fun day A PLAY group had the weather to thank as it raised over £3,000 on Sun­day for its an­nual Fam­ily Fun Day.

Chal­font St Giles pre-school playgroup held the event, which ran from 11am un­til 3pm, as a fundraiser as chil­dren’s en­ter­tainer Jo Jin­gles kept peo­ple en­ter­tained.

Adults were treated to Prosecco af­ter­noon tea, scones and a bar while chil­dren played on hook a duck and tra­di­tional fete games.

Play group leader, Me­lanie Mar­shall, said: “It was fan­tas­tic. We were just so lucky with the weather. It’s al­ways nice weather on a play group day.”

Mrs Mar­shall added: “Thank you to the fundrais­ing team who made this all pos­si­ble. With­out them it just couldn’t hap­pen.”
