Strutting their stuff generates almost £7,000
A COCKTAIL ball at Pinewood Studios raised nearly £7,000 for a leading cancer charity.
The Macmillan charity’s Gerrards Cross and district fundraising committee organised the event at Heatherden Hall, called ‘Cocktails, Canapes and Catwalk with Candlelight’.
Guests ate canapes made by Michelin-starred chef Scott McRae and enjoyed a Macmillan marketplace with specially selected stallholders and a catwalk which showcased collections from worldwide designers, before an auction by Gerrards Cross estate agent, Trevor Kent.
The committee celebrates its 21st anniversary this year and has raised more than £567,000 since 1994.
Liz King, chairman the committee, said: “It costs Macmillan £27 per hour to fund a Macmillan nurse, who will spend that valuable hour with patients, their families and their carers and tonight
