Strong mes­sage on smok­ing dan­gers

PUPILS learnt all about the neg­a­tive ef­fects of s smok­ing at a p pre­sen­ta­tion.

The stop smok­ing char­ity Quit re­cently went to Che­sham Gram­mar School, in White Hill, Che­sham, and gave an an­ti­smok­ing pre­sen­ta­tion to its year eight pupils.

They were shown pic­tures of what hap­pens to some of the body’s in­ter­nal or­gans as a re­sult of smok­ing and there was a ‘very strong mes­sage’ that smok­ing was not good.

Pre­vent­ing the up­take of smok­ing in young peo­ple is a key public health pri­or­ity, and Buck­ing­hamshire County Coun­cil in part­ner­ship with Quit has been de­liv­er­ing a new pro­gramme called Smoke Free Fam­ily Life to a num­ber of sec­ondary schools in Buck­ing­hamshire.

The pro­gramme gives
