MID BUCKS CRICKET LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION Ley Hill 112 Holmer Green 79 Ley Hill won by 23 runs SATURDAY stunning victory was Ley Hill’s first ever at derby rivals Holmer Green, since joining the Mid Bucks League in 1992.

The visitors got off to a slow start, though, with early dismissals for openers Craig Peterson and Jon Lown before Ollie Runswick and Lewis Thompson again found themselves in the position of needing to rebuild the innings and again dug in, scoring 33 and 41, respectively.

However after Runswick fell, in came long-time Ley Hill tormentor Steve Jerman, who promptly took the final seven wickets for just 11 runs, meaning the visitors were bowled out for a less-thaninspiring 112.

Chris Morris and Craig Ottoway then picked up an early wicket apiece to leave Holmer on 19-2, and then 37-5, following three further wickets for Ottoway (4-19), but Matthew Watt took the hosts to a potentially matchwinning position at 77-5.

Suranga Daluwatta (3-23) caught and bowled the dangerous Watt before Thompson (2-3) took successive scalps and, in the final over, Daluwatta picked up the two remaining wickets needed for victory.
