South Bucks convince
TOP ATHLETES: The Team South Bucks 800m runners Jess Orr, Hannah Thear and Mimi Houlihan-Burne TEAM South Bucks look set for a second consecutive Youth Development League (Upper Age Group) title following a convincing win in the match at Little Marlow on Saturday.
South Bucks, composed of athletes from Chiltern Harriers and Wycombe Phoenix, bagged 791 points, ahead of second placed Bedford & County (626) and third placed Team Oxfordshire (481).
There were wins for Jordan Layne in the U20 400m A and Dan Hunter in the B string, while Tim Rogers was a convincing winner in the U17 men’s A string 400m and Kai Mckenzie excelled in the field, winning both high jump and triple jump.
Rachel Klima won the U20 women’s A string 200m, while there was a double victory in the 800m for Hannah Thear and Emma Delgado and a 1500m A string win for Rachel Padwick.
Eden Hudson and Ellie Claessans had a double win in the pole vault, matched by Lisa Fitzpatrick and Emma Delgado in the long jump, while U17 women Anna Jones and Megan Styles won the pole vault and triple jump respectively.
Meanwhile, Beaconsfield sisters Becca and Anna Croft were both celebrating victories at the UKA Youth Development League Southern Premier Division fixture at Lee Valley.
Older sibling Becca won the U20 400m in 57.35 secs, before handing over to Anna to win the U17 300m in 41.39 secs. Both were competing for Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow AC.
