Hayes praises Howard

CAP­TAIN Paul Hayes be­lieves Wy­combe Wan­der­ers chair­man An­drew Howard’s in­fec­tious per­son­al­ity has helped the club put to­gether a pro­mo­tion push this sea­son.

The Chair­boys are pre­par­ing for their first Wem­b­ley fi­nal since 1994 as they take on Southend in Satur­day’s end-of­sea­son shootout.

Howard has had a mas­sive im­pact on the club since ar­riv­ing in the sum­mer, in­clud­ing the launch of a new share scheme, and has helped ease the pres­sure on the 11 men tak­ing to the field.

“He’s got things or­gan­ised and got us all in­volved.

“He’ll come down to the train­ing ground and we have get-to­geth­ers ev­ery cou­ple of months.

“An­drew’s a good man, like the gaffer, and his door’s al­ways open.”
