AS we say goodbye to the bloom of the cherry blossom tree for another year, we celebrate its beauty in this sweet and sour cocktail.
The drink takes its name from the rich cherry brandy, its intense red colour enriched by the sweetness of the dense grenadine syrup.
With the sharpness of the lemon juice added to the mix, this really is a drink to please the tastebuds but beware as it packs a punch!
Fill a shaker tin with ice and add one and half shots brandy, half shot cherry brandy, one and half shots triple sec, one and a half shots grenadine syrup, and two teaspoons of lemon juice.
Shake, strain and pour into a martini glass. As an addition for those who enjoy the extra sweet taste of cherry, moisten the glass with the cherry brandy and rub glass rim with powdered sugar.
