The first annual Buckinghamshire Food and Drink awards look set to get the county’s tastebuds tingling
PROVING the county is the very epitome of good taste, the first annual Buckinghamshire Food & Drink Awards winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on Monday June 1.
Nominations have now closed and public voting is complete and the results are under lock and key until the awards ceremony, which will take place at Horwood House in Little Horwood.
Karen McGeeny, from the Buckinghamshire Food and Drink Awards, said: “We had a phenomenal response to these first ever awards. Some 159 Buckinghamshire venues were nominated with a staggering 29,000 votes cast.
“These amazing number show the public of Buckinghamshire have an Above from left, Mayo Brothers are nominated for Best Indepedent Butchers, Artichoke are up for Best Fine Dining Restaurant and Service Excellence and Chiltern Farm Foods for Best Farmers Market Stallholder. Below, chef Tim Zekki of Duende Pop Up is in the running for Best Newcomer Gilbey’s – Amersham The Grange – Milton Keynes The Smoke Shack – Stony Stratford insatiable appetite for quality, local venues It is a superb achievement to get through to this stage and we are excited about making the announcement of June 1.”
There are 13 categories in the competition ranging from best cocktail menu to best butcher.
