Black tie ball to raise funds for school hall
A SCHOOL is holding its first summer ball for nearly a decade to raise money for a new stage in the main hall.
People can expect an auction, live music and dinner at the ball which will be held at The Beaconsfield School on Wattleton Road. It will take place on Saturday June 6, with welcome drinks at 7pm outside before heading in for dinner at 7.30pm
Parent Sue Dyer, who is also on the school PTFA, said: “The school’s not done a ball for a number of years and we’re doing a big fundraiser to replace the staging in the main school hall.”
She added: “In the main school hall the main stage is quite run down so the PTFA decided all fundraising activities are going towards the hall.
“It’s nice for parents to understand what they’re contributing towards.”

www.getbucks.co.uk expected and they will be able to take part in an auction, a casino and listen to live music from local band The Scoundrels and the school jazz band.
Mrs Dyer said: “We’re running an auction so we’re hoping that will raise us an amount of money to go towards the stage.”
Preparations for the big event are well under way, as Mrs Dyer said: “It all seems to coming together nicely, but one thing we can’t control is the sunshine.”
She added: “They did hold a ball a while ago but it was nine or 10 years ago since the school did anything like this as far as I know.”
