Fire­fighter so proud to have served for 47 years

THE long­est serv­ing fire­fighter in the county has been nom­i­nated for a Pride of Bucks award.

Paul Lil­ly­crop has been nom­i­nated for the 999 ser­vice per­son­nel award, which is spon­sored by GE Health­care, by his col­league Colin Marks.

The 65-year-old re­tired at the be­gin­ning of May af­ter a 47-year ca­reer at Amer­sham Fire Sta­tion.

When asked about the achieve­ment of be­ing one of the long­est-stand­ing fire of­fi­cers in the coun­try, Mr Lil­ly­crop said: “I am very proud of that, it is a big thing. I have loved ev­ery minute of it and I would rec­om­mend a ca­reer in the fire ser­vice.”
