Healthy eat­ing talk strikes a chord with pupils

THE OWNER of a cater­ing com­pany spoke to pupils at an as­sem­bly re­cently and re­ceived a pleas­ant sur­prise when a par­ent got in touch to tell her how her talk had won her daugh­ter over.

Kate Martin, who has helped de­velop a num­ber of healthy eat­ing ini­tia­tives over the years, is from Bea­cons­field and owns in­de­pen­dent schools cater­ing com­pany Brook­wood, gave the talk at High March School, Led­bor­ough Lane.

Dur­ing the year she de­liv­ers healthy eat­ing as­sem­blies to about 35,000 pupils, help­ing them know more about where their food comes from, the im­por­tance of start­ing their day with a good break­fast and which foods will sup­port pupils’ con­cen­tra­tion in the class­room and fit­ness on the sports field.
