Che­sham’s cup pride

CHE­SHAM Bowls Club opened their Bucks Cup cam­paign this week by tak­ing brag­ging rights from neigh­bours Amer­sham.

The trio of Alan Cohn, Roger El­lis­ton and Chris Har­vey led the way as they won 22-11 and, with two of the other three games go­ing Che­sham’s way, an 82-66 win was sealed giv­ing them 12 points to Amer­sham’s two.

Che­sham are well placed too, fol­low­ing a 126-107 win over Mar­low in the first leg of the Che­sham Cup. Top rink in the suc­cess was the quar­tet of Mar­garet Shep­herd, Andy Roker, Colin Ware and Peter Hor­ton who won their match 26-11.

More suc­cess came by way of a 42-32 win over Ayles­bury Town in the Lon­don & South­ern Coun­ties Dou­ble Fours.

The game where rinks are played home and away saw host quar­tet Chris Fillery, David Coles, Chris Har­vey and Keith Pa­trick win 22-12, while Che­sham’s away four­some of Nathan Har­vey, Alan Cohn, Ray Keen and Mick Sk­erry drew 20-20.

The week’s friendly ac­tion wit­nessed a 106-92 win over Iver Heath and a 98-89 de­feat to As­ton Clin­ton, while Bank Hol­i­day Mon­day saw the men take the honours in the club’s an­nual ladies ver­sus gen­tle­man match by 124-110.
