A Friend in need is a Friend indeed for hospice fundraiser
WE HAVE recently launched a new scheme encouraging supporters to become a Friend of the charity by making a regular gift from as little as £3 a month and are hoping more and more people will support this initiative.
Rennie Grove offers a lifeline for local patients and their families learning to live with life-limiting illness so that they can live independently at home for as long as possible. The charity relies on the generosity of supporters to fund more than 85 per cent of its annual £6.5 million income.
Gillian Barnett, director of fundraising and marketing, explains: “As the demand for our nursing service rapidly increases we need your help now more than ever to ensure we can continue providing invaluable care to patients in the area.
“This year we’re proud to mark the milestone of providing 30 years of care to patients living with a lifelimiting illness across Herts and Bucks.
“By becoming a Friend of Rennie Grove you will join a group of exceptional people who are helping to ensure that we can carry on helping patients who urgently need our care today and into the next 30 years.”
Judith has been making a regular gift for the past 18 months and explains why she has chosen to become a Friend of Rennie Grove.
She said: “Everyone knows somebody who’s been affected by cancer or terminal illness and a number of my friends have either used Rennie Grove or their family have.
“This has really brought it home to me how important it is to keep these services going.
“So by setting up a direct debit, I know I’m helping to keep them available should anyone I care about ever need them.”
Rennie Grove Hospice Care provides care to more than 3,000 patients and families every year through its 24-hour responsive Hospice at Home nursing service, day services at Grove House and family support services.
Gillian adds: “Whether you’ve been touched by our nursing service or you believe it’s important to ensure hospice care services remain available in your area, a regular gift is one of the best ways to support us.
“Your gift can provide a regular source of income, helping us plan for the future with confidence so that we can meet the ever-increasing demand for our service.”
