Pow­er­house on the wa­ter and in her work to boost char­ity

YOUNG Kayleigh Pri­est­ley is a pow­er­house of a teenager.

A pupil of The Bea­cons­field School and a Burn­ham res­i­dent, last year she was the youngest com­peti­tor at the World Power Boat Cham­pi­onships in Guernsey.

But that isn’t why she has been nom­i­nated for a Pride of Bucks award in the Rafe Chiles Award (Young Per­son Un­der 18) spon­sored by Evo­lu­tion Live.

In fact, it is her fundrais­ing prow­ess that has earned her the nom­i­na­tion.

Kayleigh, 16, has worked hard to raise both aware­ness of and funds for The Sick Chil­dren’s Trust.

And de­spite work­ing hard for her ex­ams this year, the teenager has raised around £1,000 for the trust to add to the £2,500 she has raised over the last two years.

She is nom­i­nated by her mother Odette who said: “She was wor­ried at the be­gin­ning of the year that
