Big chop takes Alice closer to target
A SCHOOLGIRL is close to hitting her £1,000 fundraising target after cutting off her hair for charity.
11-year-old Alice Jenkins, from Richings Park, Iver, is raising the funds for Rennie Grove Hospice Care in memory of her grandad, Malcolm Fry, after they looked after him in 2011.
Her waist length hair was cut on Thursday May 7 at Tips Tops ‘n’ Tan in Iver Heath.
Staff at the salon cut her hair for free and will donate the cost of the hair cut to charity.
Pupils at Langley Hall Primary Academy, where Alice attends, also took part in a ‘crazy hair day’ the following day on Friday to show their support.
Alice has so far raised £860 for each of the charities she has chosen to support, Rennie Grove and Sebastian’s Action Trust, with her hair being donated to the Little Princess Trust.
Alice said: “I am doing this in memory of my grandad. Rennie Grove Hospice Care looked after him in his last few
