Big chop takes Alice closer to tar­get

A SCHOOL­GIRL is close to hit­ting her £1,000 fundrais­ing tar­get af­ter cut­ting off her hair for char­ity.

11-year-old Alice Jenk­ins, from Richings Park, Iver, is rais­ing the funds for Ren­nie Grove Hospice Care in mem­ory of her grandad, Mal­colm Fry, af­ter they looked af­ter him in 2011.

Her waist length hair was cut on Thurs­day May 7 at Tips Tops ‘n’ Tan in Iver Heath.

Staff at the sa­lon cut her hair for free and will do­nate the cost of the hair cut to char­ity.

Pupils at Lan­g­ley Hall Pri­mary Academy, where Alice at­tends, also took part in a ‘crazy hair day’ the fol­low­ing day on Fri­day to show their sup­port.

Alice has so far raised £860 for each of the char­i­ties she has cho­sen to sup­port, Ren­nie Grove and Se­bas­tian’s Ac­tion Trust, with her hair be­ing do­nated to the Lit­tle Princess Trust.
