Har­ri­ers’ stunning show

YOUNG ATH­LETES: The U13 boys 4x100m re­lay team were in ac­tion at the week­end CHILTERN Har­ri­ers put in a stunning per­for­mance to come sec­ond in the Youth Devel­op­ment League Lower Age Group meet at Brighton on Satur­day.

With sev­eral key ath­letes re­turn­ing to the team, the U15 girls had a su­perb day, with new per­sonal bests for both Ella Merten-Mancer (12.83) and Maya Bhat (13.13) to win the 100m dou­ble, while Bhat was also sec­ond in the A string 200m, and Mia Hen­son won the B string.

There was an­other dou­ble win in the 1500m, thanks to So­phie Morton and Robyn Watkins, while Char­lotte Munn won the B string 800m and Sandie Pohlman was sec­ond in the A string 800m. In the U13s events, Katie Stocker set a PB of 4m to be third in the long jump.

Siddhant Dey won both the A string dis­cus and shot and was sec­ond in the ham­mer to give the U15 boys a good start in the field, while Kris­tian Everiss and Phoenix Everiss came sec­ond in the B string ham­mer and dis­cus re­spec­tively. On the track, Cameron Reid and Red­ford Den­son scored a dou­ble sec­ond in the 800m, while the 4x100m re­lay was won by Dey, Calvin Stevens, Monty Weather­all and Felix Hale in 51.89 secs.

An­gus Wil­liams, fresh from his suc­cess at the Bucks Track & Field Cham­pi­onships, won the U13 boys 800m A string, with Tom Hunter do­ing like­wise in the 1500m and Chris­tian Grint in the 75m hur­dles, while Alex Al­dred won the 1500m B and Nathan Hack­ley was sec­ond in the 800m B.
