Harriers’ stunning show
YOUNG ATHLETES: The U13 boys 4x100m relay team were in action at the weekend CHILTERN Harriers put in a stunning performance to come second in the Youth Development League Lower Age Group meet at Brighton on Saturday.
With several key athletes returning to the team, the U15 girls had a superb day, with new personal bests for both Ella Merten-Mancer (12.83) and Maya Bhat (13.13) to win the 100m double, while Bhat was also second in the A string 200m, and Mia Henson won the B string.
There was another double win in the 1500m, thanks to Sophie Morton and Robyn Watkins, while Charlotte Munn won the B string 800m and Sandie Pohlman was second in the A string 800m. In the U13s events, Katie Stocker set a PB of 4m to be third in the long jump.
Siddhant Dey won both the A string discus and shot and was second in the hammer to give the U15 boys a good start in the field, while Kristian Everiss and Phoenix Everiss came second in the B string hammer and discus respectively. On the track, Cameron Reid and Redford Denson scored a double second in the 800m, while the 4x100m relay was won by Dey, Calvin Stevens, Monty Weatherall and Felix Hale in 51.89 secs.
Angus Williams, fresh from his success at the Bucks Track & Field Championships, won the U13 boys 800m A string, with Tom Hunter doing likewise in the 1500m and Christian Grint in the 75m hurdles, while Alex Aldred won the 1500m B and Nathan Hackley was second in the 800m B.
