Fin­gers crossed for fun in the sun at vil­lage days

HEAD over to Lit­tle Chal­font on Satur­day for their an­nual Vil­lage Day. It starts at 9.30am with a fun run in West­wood Park, be­tween 12pm and 4pm there will be var­i­ous at­trac­tions in the vil­lage, a jazz band will play from 12.30pm un­til 2.30pm and there will also be beer tast­ing.

A WI run bake off will take place in the vil­lage hall with two cat­e­gories, but if you want to en­ter you must get your cakes in by 10.30am.

Ballet, Taek­wondo and a bar­be­cue are also among the at­trac­tions on of­fer.

The pro­gramme for the day will be avail­able to buy from £1 in shops around the vil­lage from next week. AN open farm event will be held on Sun­day at Road Farm, Ayles­bury Road, Great Mis­senden, from 1.30pm un­til 4.30pm.

Peo­ple can meet the an­i­mals such as sheep, pigs and poul­try.

There will also be timed farm­ing and wildlife tours, pol­li­na­tor sur­veys, quiz trails, a bushcraft demon­stra­tion, view­able bee hives and sev­eral crafts in the re­stored Thresh­ing Barn. Sim­ple re­fresh­ments are avail­able. Please ap­proach and leave farm drive-way with cau­tion as it’s off a fast main road but dogs are not al­lowed. A char­i­ta­ble do­na­tion will be ap­pre­ci­ated.

THE Bea­cons­field branch of 3 the Na­tional Child­birth Trust (NCT) is hold­ing a Cheeky Mon­keys Tea Party on Satur­day at St Thomas’ Church Hall, Mayflower Way, Holt­spur.

Held from 2pm un­til 5pm, to raise money to help sup­port fam­i­lies as they pre­pare for child­hood, there will be pre-school en­ter­tain­ment in­clud­ing mu­sic, baby sign­ing, face paint­ing, a lucky dip and food stalls.

Tick­ets are £3.50 per child over one but adults go free.

Pic­nic boxes are avail­able for chil­dren, but free if you pre-book

HAZELDENE Farm, in Ash­eridge, Che­sham, is rais­ing funds for a girl from Wat­ford suf­fer­ing from a se­ri­ous

blood dis­or­der on Sun­day from 11am un­til 4pm.

They are host­ing, ‘Fam­ily Fun and Open Farm Sun­day, Sup­port­ing #BraveBrookeC’ to help raise enough money to con­vert Brooke Corn­well’s fam­ily home to a ster­ile en­vi­ron­ment.

A raf­fle, a bouncy cas­tle, an air ri­fle range, an ice cream van and bar­be­cue are some of the at­trac­tions on of­fer.

Tick­ets are £1 for adults but un­der 16s go free.

THE an­nual Chal­font St Peter 5 parish day, at St Joseph’s Church, Austen­wood Com­mon, takes place on Satur­day from 12pm un­til 4pm.

There will be a bouncy cas­tle, a beat the goalie com­pe­ti­tion, plant stalls, sumo wrestling, and sweet, bread and plant stalls.

A choice of food will be avail­able, in­clud­ing a bar­be­cue and af­ter­noon tea.

The event closes with the drawing of the parish raf­fle which has a top prize of £500, among oth­ers.

All money raised go to­wards re­fur­bish­ment of the parish fa­cil­i­ties.
