Fingers crossed for fun in the sun at village days
HEAD over to Little Chalfont on Saturday for their annual Village Day. It starts at 9.30am with a fun run in Westwood Park, between 12pm and 4pm there will be various attractions in the village, a jazz band will play from 12.30pm until 2.30pm and there will also be beer tasting.
A WI run bake off will take place in the village hall with two categories, but if you want to enter you must get your cakes in by 10.30am.
Ballet, Taekwondo and a barbecue are also among the attractions on offer.
The programme for the day will be available to buy from £1 in shops around the village from next week. AN open farm event will be held on Sunday at Road Farm, Aylesbury Road, Great Missenden, from 1.30pm until 4.30pm.
People can meet the animals such as sheep, pigs and poultry.
There will also be timed farming and wildlife tours, pollinator surveys, quiz trails, a bushcraft demonstration, viewable bee hives and several crafts in the restored Threshing Barn. Simple refreshments are available. Please approach and leave farm drive-way with caution as it’s off a fast main road but dogs are not allowed. A charitable donation will be appreciated.
THE Beaconsfield branch of 3 the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) is holding a Cheeky Monkeys Tea Party on Saturday at St Thomas’ Church Hall, Mayflower Way, Holtspur.
Held from 2pm until 5pm, to raise money to help support families as they prepare for childhood, there will be pre-school entertainment including music, baby signing, face painting, a lucky dip and food stalls.
Tickets are £3.50 per child over one but adults go free.
Picnic boxes are available for children, but free if you pre-book

HAZELDENE Farm, in Asheridge, Chesham, is raising funds for a girl from Watford suffering from a serious
blood disorder on Sunday from 11am until 4pm.
They are hosting, ‘Family Fun and Open Farm Sunday, Supporting #BraveBrookeC’ to help raise enough money to convert Brooke Cornwell’s family home to a sterile environment.
A raffle, a bouncy castle, an air rifle range, an ice cream van and barbecue are some of the attractions on offer.
Tickets are £1 for adults but under 16s go free.

THE annual Chalfont St Peter 5 parish day, at St Joseph’s Church, Austenwood Common, takes place on Saturday from 12pm until 4pm.
There will be a bouncy castle, a beat the goalie competition, plant stalls, sumo wrestling, and sweet, bread and plant stalls.
A choice of food will be available, including a barbecue and afternoon tea.
The event closes with the drawing of the parish raffle which has a top prize of £500, among others.
All money raised go towards refurbishment of the parish facilities.
