Using pedal power to make a change
A FAMILY bike ride, organised by a local environmental group to increase people’s environmental awareness, took place on Sunday, June7.
The Change4Chalfont family bike ride started at 2pm from the Bike Barn, Market Place, Chalfont St Peter, and went along country roads before a quick stop over at the Chiltern Open Air Museum, Gorelands Lane, Chalfont St Giles
Roland Collicott, otherwise known as the ‘Bike Doctor’, was one of the leaders of the ride.
He said: “I didn’t really know how many people to expect and we got 61 people, including 29 children, many of whom hadn’t ridden any distance on the road before.
“At Change4Chalfont, we’d wanted to make people realise that riding around the village is quite possible, that the hills are quite do-able – many people enjoyed the challenge – and that there are interesting and peaceful routes avoiding

“Thanks to all the Change4Chalfont people and friends who looked after people on the day. We’re really pleased with the turn-out and delighted to hear people’s very positive comments.
