MORE than 160 people took advantage of some glorious weather on Saturday to raise nearly £1,300 for a care home.

Bradbury House Care Home held a fundraising garden party at trustee Jeff Medlock’s House, on Austenwood Lane, Chalfont St Peter, which lasted from 2pm until 4.30pm.

The care home, based in Beaconsfield and run by the Abbeyfield Beaconsfield Society, provides support and care for the elderly.

It is a registered charity and Saturday’s event aimed to help people who stay at the home if they fall into financial distress.

Mr Medlock, who has been trustee of the charity for six years and chairman of the trustees for three years, said: “We had a very successful day.”

He added: “We had more than 160 visitors and raised nearly £1,300 on the day for Bradbury House.

“As the weather was very nice, everyone seemed to enjoy the garden and they took full advantage of the refreshments provided.”
