Mum’s run raised funds for school
A MOTHER raised over £3,000 for the school her children attend by running the London Marathon.
Elaine Coker is mother to Ben, Max and Harvey, current and past pupils Chalfont St Peter Church of England Academy.
She trained for several months after receiving advice from an experienced runner, with her runs taking her all across South Bucks
Money was raised through playground ‘signup’ sheets, the Just Giving website, businesses, friends of the school and parents.
She got became involved after the school decided to introduce mobile technology in class.
Elizabeth Underwood, headteacher, said: “We are so grateful to receive this fantastic sum of money. CHALFONT: The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross Probus Club are meeting on Wednesday (June 17) to hear retired Major Craig Rice giving a talk on HYDE HEATH: A beer festival will take place on Friday, June 19 at 7.30pm on the Green in the village.
