Mum’s run raised funds for school

A MOTHER raised over £3,000 for the school her chil­dren at­tend by run­ning the Lon­don Marathon.

Elaine Coker is mother to Ben, Max and Har­vey, cur­rent and past pupils Chal­font St Peter Church of Eng­land Academy.

She trained for sev­eral months af­ter re­ceiv­ing ad­vice from an ex­pe­ri­enced run­ner, with her runs tak­ing her all across South Bucks

Money was raised through play­ground ‘signup’ sheets, the Just Giv­ing web­site, busi­nesses, friends of the school and par­ents.

She got be­came in­volved af­ter the school de­cided to in­tro­duce mo­bile tech­nol­ogy in class.

El­iz­a­beth Un­der­wood, head­teacher, said: “We are so grate­ful to re­ceive this fan­tas­tic sum of money. CHAL­FONT: The Chal­fonts and Ger­rards Cross Probus Club are meet­ing on Wed­nes­day (June 17) to hear re­tired Ma­jor Craig Rice giv­ing a talk on HYDE HEATH: A beer fes­ti­val will take place on Fri­day, June 19 at 7.30pm on the Green in the vil­lage.
