Be proud of your posters
TAKE a look at these fantastic posters from our artistic Bucks school pupils. Schools across Bucks were asked to take part in our poster competition for Armed Forces Day 2015.
And last week we were delighted to announce both the winner and the runner up.
The winner was seven-year-old Ava Lawrence, a pupil at St George’s Infant School, White Lion Road, Amersham.
Her design features a swan, which features on the county flag and coat of arms, piloting a plane with the swan’s wings as the plane’s wings.
Runner up was six-year-old Ilia Morrison Guthrie, who also attends St George’s.
But this week were are delighted to show the other entrants.
In conjunction with the county council we tasked children with creating a design to show how proud we are of our Armed Forces community in Bucks.
Entries were judged by a three person panel and they had to include a design that made it unique to our county.
The day itself takes place on Saturday, June 27, at Aylesbury Rugby Club.
Attendees can expect displays from Spitfire aeroplanes and Hurricane aeroplanes, among others.
Local bands, such as the Memphis Bells, are also lined up to play on a day that is set up to be better than ever.
People can also expect to take enjoy a number of stalls, games and lots of entertainment which organisers hope make the event a huge success.
