Rennie’s a groovy new addition to hospice
RENNIE Grove Hospice Care has welcomed a new member of the team – a fresh-faced mascot called Rennie Bear.
Rennie Bear has arrived at a hectic time of the fundraising year and is now available to help promote the work that Rennie Grove does in the local community by attending events and talks.
One of his first engagements will be to go out and about in the community on Friday, June 19 to show his support for the charity’s awareness day – Rennie Groovy Shoes Day. He will be showing off his very groovy new purple and pink shoes which will be embellished on the day to be even more funky and eye-catching.
The friendly mascot will also be testing his grey matter at the Groovy Shoes Quiz at Grove House in Waverley Road, St Albans, which takes place on Friday, June 19 at 7pm. Entry is £10 per person which includes pizza and a drink. There will also be a prize for the person wearing the grooviest shoes. Call 01727 731 028 to book your teams of up to six people.
Another of Rennie Bear’s key jobs is to keep the charity’s ambassadors company when they give talks at events ranging from club lunches to school assemblies and business occasions.
Community fundraising manager Penny Crosswell said: “Our ambassadors can attend your event or come along to a meeting to give an informed and interesting talk about the charity.”
If you would like an ambassador to speak at your event or Rennie Bear to make a special guest appearance, please contact Claire Redrup on 01442 820 718.
