Amelie’s best of British
FARNHAM Common gymnast Amelie Morgan has become a British champion for the third time at the tender age of 11.
The Slough Gymnastics youngster (pictured) was a winner at the British Compulsory Levels Championships in Ipswich – an elite gymnastics competition at the highest level for her age group.
It is no fluke either – the Beaconsfield High pupil puts in plenty of graft by training 26 hours a week at her club.
This comes hot on the footsteps of another impressive recent performance by Morgan at the English Championships.
Competing as a first year Espoir gymnast, meaning she was up against not only girls her own age group but the year older too, she finished as an overall silver medalist.
Gymnastic success seems to run in the family too, as Amelie’s twin brother Finn recently competed at the southern regional finals, where he was also a winner.
