Return for Beechdean
BUCKS-based Beechdean Aston Martin Racing will return to the Aston Martin Motorsport Festival at this weekend’s Le Mans 24-hour with GTE, GT3 and GT4 Vantage race cars.
The Aston Martin-exclusive race will take place before the main endurance event, with practice and qualifying sessions in the preceding days at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
Andrew Howard, Beechdean AMR owner and 2013 British GT Champion, is racing in his Aston Martin GTE V8 Vantage for the first time, alongside touring car champion Liam Griffin.
The prestigious event will also see the GT3 car driven by British GT racing duo Phil Dryburgh and John Gaw, while Great British Bake off star Paul Hollywood will take the wheel of the GT4 alongside David Richards.
Howard, who is also the Wycombe Wanderers chairman, said: “By adding a GTE car into the team we are expanding for the future and we have a stepping stone from a national to a world championship. The festival race is a great exhibition of Aston Martin Racing’s history, but also gives us an early sighting for next year.”
This follows a second consecutive Avon Tyres British GT Championship win for Beechdean AMR youngsters Ross Gunn and Jamie Chadwick at the Silverstone 500 last week.
