Harewood Downs’ Sam Carrington with Stan Griffiths HAREWOOD DOWNS GC HAREWOOD Downs’ very own Sam Carrington produced the best nett score of 69 at the club’s inaugural Junior Open.
Entrants came from as many as 16 clubs in the area and the best gross score of 74 came from East Berkshire’s Bradley Tuckett.
Harewood Downs junior organiser, Stan Griffiths, who is pictured with Carrington, said: “This was a successful initiative and we will be looking to build on this excellent first year for next year and beyond.” Terry Greensomes Goblets: 1. BEST NETT: Competition organiser Ray Moore, winner Sylvester Nolan and club president Ralph Lane LITTLE HAY GC SYLVESTER Nolan used all his years of experience to win the Little Hay Golf Club 75+ years competition last Thursday.
Some 21 Little Hay members took part, with the oldest being Royston Fisher at 84 years old, the same age as club president Ralph Lane, who came third on 36 points.
