Lisa and Sue take win

VICTORY: Tro­phy win­ners Lisa Allen and Sue Hold­ship with ladies cap­tain An­gela Newey (cen­tre) GER­RARDS CROSS GC LISA Allen and Sue Hold­ship emerged vic­to­ri­ous in Ger­rards Cross Golf Club’s 2015 36-hole four­somes tro­phy.

The for­mat is a test of both golf and friend­ship as ev­ery shot mat­ters – with Allen and Hold­ship keep­ing both in­tact with a fab­u­lous score of nett 74.5 in the morn­ing and nett 70.5 in the af­ter­noon – a to­tal of 145.

Run­ners up with a nett 146 were Carolyn Betts and Mar­garet McGee, while win­ners of the best morn­ing score prize were Carol Der­byshire and Lynn Moody. The best af­ter­noon score prize was awarded to Bar­bara Roake and Jo Rob­bins. BEA­CONS­FIELD GC Ladies Stable­ford: Div One – 1. El­iz­a­beth Drum­mond 38 pts; 2. Mandy Bart­hole­mew 37 pts; 3. OAK­LAND PARK GC GEN­ER­OUS club mem­bers at Oak­land Park have dug deep to help raise £7,680 for The Prince’s Trust dur­ing Peter Hollingsworth’s year as men’s cap­tain.

Hollingsworth has now pre­sented a cheque for the amount to the char­ity. He is pic­tured, above, with the Prince’s Trust’s Alison Mi­hail, men’s trea­surer David Lis­ton, club mem­ber and Prince’s Trust vol­un­teer David Priest, and past men’s cap­tain Roger New­man.

Hollingsworth said: “The gen­eros­ity of the mem­bers and man­age­ment of Oak­land Park ap­pears to show no bounds. Ev­ery year the mem­bers dig deep and there is al­ways en­thu­si­as­tic sup­port from the whole club for the char­i­ties cho­sen by the three cap­tains.”

Mi­hail added: “When Peter first sug­gested to me that he wanted to sup­port The Prince’s Trust I was de­lighted. It was the first time I have been ap­proached for some­thing like this and it is clear the year was a great suc­cess. We are very grate­ful.”
