Over­whelm­ing sup­port

VIL­LAGERS came to­gether to raise funds for the cri­sis in Nepal by hold­ing a cof­fee morn­ing.

An event was held at Ger­rards Cross Methodist Church on Satur­day, May 30 fol­low­ing the earth­quakes which have dev­as­tated Nepal.

Funds went to the Anand­a­ban Hos­pi­tal in the coun­try, which was suf­fered se­vere dam­age dur­ing the cri­sis.

Or­gan­iser Ken Walker said: “I usu­ally get a good re­sponse from the public at large for my an­nual cof­fee morn­ings but this year I had over­whelm­ing sup­port, and much to my amaze­ment, the to­tal raised came to the mag­nif­i­cent sum of £1,111.

“It is by far the largest amount ever raised by a cof­fee morn­ing at our

methodist church.”
