A weekend of magic and mayhem

BROWNIES from Bucks were among 1,500 young girl guiding members who attended the UK’s only girl only festival.
Earlier this month, girls from the First Fulmer Brownies went along to the event, which took place at a site in Hampshire.
The weekend long event went ahead on June 13 and 14 and was entitled Magic and Mayhem. Girls got the chance to learn magic tricks and to conduct science experiments.
The young festival goers then enjoyed a mass sleepover in a giant big top tent, and were also given the chance to meet chief guide Gill Slocombe who was made a CBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list.
Group leader Angela Hurlstone said: “They all said they had a great time and loved taking part in all the wonderful activities.
“Sleeping in a circus marque with 600 Brownies and leaders was a new experience for me as well as the Brownies.”
