So­phie’s bloom­ing great de­sign

A PRIZE-win­ning pupil planted her flower bed with pride.

Year six pupil So­phie Terry from Heather­ton House School, Cop­perkins Lane in Amer­sham, got her hands dirty last week as she helped to plant a new flower bed op­po­site the Boot and Slip­per pub in Amer­sham.

So­phie was one of the proud win­ners of Amer­sham in Bloom’s De­sign a Flower bed Com­pe­ti­tion and part of her prize was to as­sist the Amer­sham in Bloom team in plant­ing her award-win­ning flower bed. Her de­sign of a golden medal on a dark pur­ple rib­bon was cre­ated us­ing rich­coloured petu­nias, golden marigolds and sil­ver cineraria.

So­phie said: “It was so much fun to get stuck in and help make my de­sign a re­al­ity. I was re­ally happy with the way it looked.”
