Play will give com­mu­nity a chance shine

Drama club’s sum­mer per­for­mance

YOUNG ac­tors are set to get their chance to shine in a sum­mer play de­signed to bring a com­mu­nity to­gether.

The Iver Heath Drama Club is set to put on a new com­edy play en­ti­tled Law and Or­der: Fairy Tale Unit.

Younger mem­bers of the group, which meets and per­forms at Iver Heath Vil­lage Hall, are be­ing given all of the lead­ing roles in the play.

The per­for­mance is also be­ing used as a chance for mem­bers of the com­mu­nity to get to know the club bet­ter and to dis­cover more about what it does and the sort of shows it puts on.

Be­fore the show takes place, the club will be hold­ing a meet and greet event which it is hoped that lots of peo­ple will at­tend.

Matthew Streuli, who is vice chair­man of the club, and who will be play­ing a pig in the play, said: “We have a range of fan­tas­tic com­mu­nity groups and as­sets in our area.

“If we get to know each other a lit­tle bet­ter, we could help each other solve more prob­lems and

Among the con­firmed at­ten­dees so far are rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Pinewood Stu­dios, which spon­sors the group, as well as McAlpine Con­struc­tion, which is con­struct­ing the ex­pan­sion to the stu­dios.

Mem­bers of Iver Parish Coun­cil will also be go­ing along, as well as rep­re­sen­ta­tive of Iver Heath Ju­nior School, Iver Heat Res­i­dents As­so­ci­a­tion, Friends of Slough Canal and the Iver Singers.

Prof­its from the event will go to­wards fund­ing the club and fu­ture pro­duc­tions, such as its an­nual pan­tomime, set to be per­formed later this year.

Club pres­i­dent and parish coun­cil­lor Reg Gould said: “It is great to see Iver Heath Drama Club be­come a fo­cal point for all ages in our parish and bring us all to­gether.”
