Vol­un­teers clean up at Iver cen­tre

A TEAM of vol­un­teers has been get­ting its hands dirty help­ing out at an en­vi­ron­ment cen­tre.

A group of 15 em­ploy­ees at the con­struc­tion firm Skan­ska went along to the Iver En­vi­ron­ment Cen­tre ear­lier this month to carry out im­por­tant main­te­nance work at the Iver En­vi­ron­ment Cen­tre.

Dur­ing a day of in­ten­sive work, they erected a gi­ant tepee, cleared over­grown space to form a new pa­tio, and painted a new per­gola.

They also de­mol­ished an old pizza oven be­fore set­ting the foun­da­tions for its re­place­ment.

The team from Skan­ska work­ing at the Iver En­vi­ron­ment Cen­tre said: “The work Skan­ska has done con­trib­utes to al­low­ing chil­dren to ac­cess and re­con­nect with na­ture which helps them to de­velop their own per­sonal skills.”

Cas­san­dra Cann, a se­nior HR man­ager at Skan­ska, said: “We’re all leav­ing the cen­tre ex­hausted but it was a fan­tas­tic pro­ject to be in­volved in.”
