Beaconsfield Now a special event

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

I write on behalf of the Beaconsfield Society to thank the many people who took part in Beaconsfield Now on Saturday and who made the event so special.

Volunteers from more than 40 organisations were involved producing wonderful displays and informative leaflets.

Food from the Guides and Scouts was delicious.

Thanks to Colin Maitland who did a sterling job, despte the rain, encouraging stallholders to inform and inspire the many attendees. Our Choirs from The Beaconsfield School, Davenies and the Beaconsfield High School supported by audio experts ‘Go DJ’ sang beautifully and entertained us all.

Thank you also to Richard Jones, our special guest, and to Dick Smith who opened our event in his usual memorable way. Thanks also to John Read our new Mayor and the Rt Hon Dominic Grieve who met many of the organisations volunteers. Winkworths kindly sponsored and advertised our event this year. Thank you all so much and best wishes until next year.
