Har­ri­ers fin­ish day fifth

THERE was a fifth place fin­ish for Chiltern Har­ri­ers as they hosted the sec­ond match of the South­ern Women’s Track and Field League Di­vi­sion One sea­son at Lit­tle Mar­low.

There was a good start for the club in the open­ing track event, the U17 300m hur­dles, which Fran Luttrell won in 48.1 secs.

This was quickly fol­lowed by a win in the ‘A’ string U15 100m from Alee­sha Off­side in 14.3 secs, and she later placed sec­ond in the ‘A’ string 200m in 30.7 secs.

Other note­wor­thy per­for­mances in the U15 cat­e­gory came from 11-year-old Mil­lie Hughes, with 5.86m in the shot to fin­ish sec­ond over­all, and 12.14m in the javelin to take sec­ond in the ‘A’ string.

In the se­nior events, over-60 Bar­bara Ralph had the best plac­ing with sec­ond in the 3,000m in a good time of 13 mins 23.6 secs.

An­gela Hughes was third over­all in the long jump with 3.36m, while team cap­tain El­lie Bates was third ‘A’ string fin­isher and fourth over­all in the 800m in 2 mins 51.2 secs.
