Newcomers enjoy Great British Tennis weekend
MORE than 40 players – most of whom had never been to the club before – enjoyed Gerrards Cross Lawn Tennis Club’s Open Day on Sunday.
Held as part of the Great British Tennis weekend, the event saw 12 adults receive free coaching from Tennace coach Alex Allen on the brand new synthetic clay courts, while other adults had free play on the other surfaces.
The mini tennis (seven and under) players benefited from free coaching from Tennace coach Peter Bresnen, while other children were organised on the grass courts by head pro Andy Scholfield, who organised the whole day.
The next event is an open doubles tournament this Sunday, from 2pm, for members, friends and visitors aged 14 and over.
There is no need to bring a partner, but you can enter by sending an email to andy@ Tennace.com.
