COMMITTED carers enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with cream teas at Missenden Abbey.

As part of national Carers Week, Carers Bucks hosted a special afternoon at the abbey.

Carers Bucks’ communications manager, Hayley Mountstevens, said: “The event went really well, with over 60 carers enjoying a cream tea and singing workshop at Missenden Abbey. It was a good opportunity for carers to meet other carers and to have a break away from their caring role.

“Carers Week is going really so far with the launch of our Carers Hub at Stoke Mandeville Hospital on Monday and the event yesterday at Missenden Abbey – we have many more events coming up this week including a working carers event at the Carers Bucks offices this evening and our open house event on Friday, when carers will have the opportunity to enjoy some pampering treatments.”

The week aims to raise awareness of carers and the challenges that they face in their daily lives.
