Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - FRONT PAGE -

CALLING all fans of Union J. We have an opportunity you really won’t want to miss out on. The popular four-piece boy band Union J is one of the highlights of this year’s PennFest and you can not only win tickets to see them, the lucky winner of our competition will also get the chance to meet the band backstage and take the odd selfie or 10!

The picturesque village of Penn Street will come alive next month with a three-day family-friendly music festival that promises to be bigger and better than ever.

An amazing line-up is promised for this year’s PennFest that takes place from Friday July 17 to Sunday July 19.

Now in its fifth year, this year’s PennFest (formerly known as Penn Festival) will certainly have you seeing (and hearing) stars.

Union J will be joining The Feeling, The Hoosiers, The Happy Mondays, Razorlight, The Fratellis, Peter Andre, Rebecca Ferguson, Scouting for Girls, Jack Pack, Stereo MCs, Only the Young and Dreadzone.

And that’s just for starters on the main stage. A great selection of alternative acts will be on the second stage each day and the old skool Warehouse will feature sets from DJs 808 State, Ratpack,p Grooverider and Slipmatt.

With such a line-up of music, you shouldn’t need anything more ... but PennFest is providing it anyway, just in case.

There will be a range of creative workshops and a global artisan market with a wide variety of arts-based stalls to tempt you.

Children are certainly not overlooked either. There will be plenty of activities to keep them amused in the Play Penn, including arts and crafts workshops, street entertainers and performers and a circus workshop where they can learn the skills of the big top. Many of the children’s events are free and there will also be a fun fair zone with thrills for the whole family.

In addition there will be multiple bars and a wide range of food outlets selling delicacies from around the world.

And there’s no need to drive. Why not take advantage of the camping facilities with free hot showers in the camping area and a quieter family camping zone? Staying for the weekend will give you the chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Chilterns.
