A sweet trip to the seaside
REVELLERS enjoyed a trip to the seaside without even leaving Chalfont St Peter last weekend.
WELSH donkeys and a Punch and Judy show sounds like the beginning of a film, but for one village these were just two of the many activities on offer at a summer seaside fete.
Chalfont St Peter Montessori School held the event on Sunday (June 14) at the Memorial Centre, East Common, Gerrards Cross, which also raised £1500 for the Montesorri PTA.
Fiona Bullivant, a teacher at the school, said: “The weather turned out brilliantly. We had the donkey rides which went down very well.”
She said she was “really pleased” with the total raised as the money goes towards equipment and activities for the children.
Mrs Bullivant added: “I think the highlight was the donkeys and the Punch and Judy because it’s something the children don’t see that often.
“The look of delight when they were riding around on the donkey.”
